Red Raven
A Personal Favor

Codename: Red Raven
Mission Date: Tuesday, December 13, 2011
Location: Marseille, France
Classification: Secret; Caliber III

Situation

On the morning of December 12, Agent Koch received an unexpected message from his contact, Gerrard. This message claimed that Gerrard had been attacked under mysterious circumstances while attending a reunion of his French Foreign Legion unit in Marseille. Gerrard had happened upon what he thought was a robbery and went to intervene. He then subsequently woke up in the hospital several hours later with no memory of the intervening time. A second message indicated that he had located the owner of the shop that was being robbed. The man was dead in his home, having apparently been beaten and possibly tortured first. A preliminary search of agency databases indicated that this man was a known point of contact for the The Guardians of the Whispering Knife. A Caliber II investigative mission was immediately authorized and Bravo Team was dispatched to the site. There, Bravo Team rendezvoused with Gerrard and was able to acquire security camera footage of the street when the robbery took place. They were also able to identify the vehicle used as a rental van and locate it using the vehicle’s on board GPS tracking device. Bravo Team then surveilled the location until the thieving crew arrived. At this time, they spotted a member of Bravo Team and after a brief exchange, opened fire. During the ensuing gunfight, Bravo Team subdued the attackers, destroyed the van, captured the apparent leader of the crew, and left the scene before local police could arrive. Agent Williams sustained a serious injury to his knee. It is as yet unknown if any of the attackers survived the fight. Bravo Team has been provided with medical assistance and a temporary safe house, where they are currently located. The mission has now been upgraded to Caliber III.

Objectives

  1. Identify the group responsible for the robbery.
  2. Identify what was stolen. If nothing was stolen, identify what the target was.

Resources and Support

  • 1 Range Rover
  • Safe House
  • Medical Assistance
After-Action Report: Operation Red Raven
Date: December 11, 2011
Agent: UTAH
Summary of Operation:

Following our successful extraction of the former Gemeinschaft Consortium agent REDACTED in Operation Roundup, Agent “Gabe” received word from his contact “Gerard” informing him of an unusual flash of light, which rendered him unconscious while at a reunion in Marseille. He awoke in a hospital with no way to explain how he got there or what happened in the intervening period. Following this, Agent “Gabe” received further word indicating that “Gerard” had located a man possibly connected. This man, a believed contact for the Guardians of the Whispering Knife, had been tortured and executed. His antique store had apparently been burglarized, the items stolen unknown.

We were then authorized to conduct a Caliber II investigation and we were dispatched to Marseille. After arriving we contacted “Gerard” and met him at the newspaper office of REDACTED. We, with Gerard accompanying then left to investigate the office behind which “Gerard” was walking when he was experienced the flash of light. We acquired security footage of the flash of light incident and other pieces of intelligence and departed, erasing our presence. After reviewing the footage, it was apparent that whatever incapacitated “Gerard” also disabled the security camera for a brief moment, after which the footage showed the four men being loaded into a nondescript white van. We were able to track the van to a parking garage and found it empty except for two sets of body armor and two assault rifles. We decided to observe the owners of the van and confront them only if necessary.

At approximately 19:30 we noticed 5 persons enter the garage and make for the van. Agent “Patches” was noticed and approached the group. A few words were exchanged and the apparent leader, a woman in her mid 30s, ordered him to be shot and she started back up the stairs. After a firefight, we were able to subdue or eliminate all 5 of the unknown assailants. Their apparent leader was able to severely wound Agent “Patches” despite repeated assaults with hand-held tazers, blunt-force trauma, and small-arms fire. She was finally rendered unconscious following a vehicle collision.

Following the engagement, a safe-house and medical care for Agent “Patches” were procured, and Bravo Team went to ground, awaiting further orders.

Notes:

Agent “Patches” asserts the woman assailed him with some sort of attack which consisted of her placing her hand on his chest, a flash of light and he was subsequently thrown several feet back and into the air. Given the circumstances and the found security footage, I am inclined to believe him, despite not having witnessed the attack and in spite of his repeated assertions that she “Fahsrhodahed” him.

Agent Suggetions:
  • Suggest that Agent “Patches” be given both a new codename and, more importantly, further training with small-arms and other ranged weaponry in an effort to ensure such foolish engagements are not repeated.
  • Extraction with escort for prisoner, I suggest a team specifically trained to deal with telekinetic and otherwise psychic prisoners.
  • Protection detail for “Gerard”

Mission Briefing

Codename: Roundup
Mission Date: Wednesday November 28, 2011
Location: London, England
Classification: Official Cover; Caliber II

Situation

We received a tip from Room 39 that one of their sections was approached by agents with The Gemeinschaft Consortium about an information exchange, or possibly even information sharing regarding the events and facility in Morocco. We’ve already made an exchange with them regarding a substantial amount of what we know about the facility. As a result, Room 39’s interest in this arrangement is only in confirmation of what we’ve already told them, which is why they alerted us to the offer. They have agreed to allow our agents to intercept the Consortium agents after the exchange on the condition that we do not attempt to observe or interfere with the meeting. Examining the Ocelot team’s flight logs and communications has indicated that there is a European party involved with the team and the facility. Identifying that party could provide a lead into locating Dunlop and agent Gaveril, and this provides the best opportunity we’ve had to do that. It’s possible that Gemeinschaft or one of its agents is involved, and even if not it’s likely that they know more about Ocelot’s activities in Europe than we do. Bravo Team is being dispatched to intercept the Consortium agents and determine what they know about the Moroccan facility, Ocelot, and their contacts in Europe.

Objectives

This mission is being conducted with the knowledge and consent of the British government. While you should still proceed covertly and with discretion, if you are arrested we can negotiate your release for all but capital crimes.

  1. Meet and coordinate with the Room 39 agents conducting the exchange.
  2. Identify the Consortium agents conducting the exchange.
  3. Wait for the exchange to take place. Do not observe or interfere with the meeting. After the meeting has concluded, tail and apprehend the Consortium agents.
  4. Once they have been apprehended, interrogate them regarding the Ocelot team and the Moroccan facility. Use any means you deem necessary, but non-aggressive means are preferred.

Resources and Support

  1. Due to very strict gun control laws in England, rifles and explosives will not be issued.
  2. 2x 2011 Range Rovers, with right hand drive. These have been purchased for this mission and should be returned to the remote office in Stockholm upon completion of the mission.
  3. In the event the Consortium agents are receptive of bribes, you will have access to an account containing $1 million to use for this purpose.

Mission Briefing

Codename: Clear Sky
Mission Date: Friday November 04, 2011
Location: Volgograd, Russia
Classification: Secret; Caliber V

Situation

Bravo Team achieved most of the objectives of Stage 3 of Operation: Desert Oasis, identifying the group as a team of Czar’s Wolves agents operating semi-autonomously. In the process, they were identified and agent Alexei Gaveril and technician Robert Dunlop were severely injured and later abducted by enemy agents. Bravo Team was unable to positively locate them and was extracted to safe territory, specifically London, to rest and recover and were issued new cover identities. Bravo Team prompted a Ukranian police investigation of the Czar’s Wolves team with the goal of limiting their options and movements.
Gaveril and Dunlop have not yet been located, but we have identified a major facility of the Wolves and are organizing a strike against it. This facility houses an advanced ALM fabricator. This device is 10 years more advanced than the cutting edge of commercial devices, and we believe it was produced by ARC. Bravo Team is being sent to destroy, or if possible, acquire the fabricator. This will significantly disrupt the Czar’s Wolves operations and could illuminate the role ARC played regarding the Moroccan facility and other wolves operations.

Objectives

  1. Surveil the Czar’s Wolves production facility in Volgograd
  2. If possible, identify the commanders or senior personnel at the facility.
  3. Locate and if possible retrieve the ALM fabricator at the facility. The device will likely be to large to transport, in which case retrieve the control circuits and computers, lasers, pumps and nozzles, and a sample of the fabrication materials.
  4. If the fabricator cannot be retrieved, destroy it.

Resources and Support

Bravo Team has the full support of the agency and its resources for this mission. However, Russia is the heart of the Czar’s Wolves power and Morpheus has no presence or influence in the region. Air support will not be available, and getting support personnel and resources could take much longer than usual.

  1. 1 Caliber V, 1 Caliber IV, and 3 Caliber III gear picks.
  2. Satellite photo of the target site

After Action Reports

Gabëler “Gabe” Koch
Mission Review:
Provided with a vast array of company resources, our team surveilled the Czars Wolves (CW from here on) fabrication base of operations. We determined our best opportunity to enter the compound undetected was to commandeer one of their supply trucks. The rest of the plan was to infiltrate their generator room and cut the power after the day shift had left, disassemble the fabricator, demolish what was left and escape on the same truck we came in on. For the most part, everything went according to plan.
Using our Jeep as a roadblock we stopped the last supply truck of the day, incapacitated the driver, and actually found one of our objectives on the truck. In order to keep the truck there over night Bruce had rigged the truck to not start again once we were underway, but was easy enough to fix so we could escape quickly. We proceeded to the facility with Bartleby and myself in the cab, and Utah and Bruce in the trailer. With my help, Bartleby got the tractor-trailer backed into the facility. I exited the truck and proceeded into the facility, quickly locating the doorway to the generator room. Inside the facility they were producing Unmanned Air Vehicles of very high sophistication. Utah, Bruce and I rondezvoused in the machine shop and proceeded to the generator room to wait out the rest of the day. Inside we encountered two technicians whom we bypassed and hid until they left. Bartleby signaled us that there were patrolling guards and upon their departure we could start the operation. The guards’ patrol however took them into the what was now determined as electric transfer room. I tried to taser one of the guards but my gun malfunctioned. So I quickly dispatched him with my rifle, and Bruce did the same, however much much louder. The compound now alerted we set the plan into action. I threw the main switch gears and took one of the guards’ radios.
Our team proceeded into the main fabricating floor and while Bruce and Utah made for the fabricator I took up position to provide supporting fire should we need it. Despite my effort to confuse the enemy over their own radios, they eventually acquired our location and were moving in. I began to lay down suppressing fire on two guards that were converging on our location and kept them pinned for a shirt time, until more guards should up with dogs. Around this time Bartleby had left the cab and began helping dismantle the fabricator. I engaged and eliminated all of the dogs in short work, and continued to engage and eliminate targets as I was able. Just as our position was close to being overrun the team had finished acquiring the parts and setting the charges.
We made a break for the back door. The enemy discerned our route and started to move in. I shot our triggering mechanism on the fabricator and took it out along with some guards. We then doubled back towards the truck and managed to start loading it up before the guards were able to figure out our new escape route. Bruce got the truck back up and running while I laid down suppressing fire. Bartleby and Utah finished loading the truck and got into the trailer. I started the truck and got underway. We took some fire leaving the compound but escaped without pursuit.

Mission Result:
We successfully attained our objectives with minimal loss of civilian life. Our identities nor our affiliation was ever discovered.

Recommendations:
This cloaking technology should be replicated and standard issue on all high-risk assignments.

Desert Oasis III
Shit hits the fan

Mission Briefing

Codename: Desert Oasis, Stage 3
Mission Date: October 20, 2011
Location: Kiev, Ukraine
Classification: Secret; Caliber III

Situation

After successfully identifying the man behind the airstrike in Morocco, Bravo Team is sent to Cairo to meet up with Marcus Wikerson for debriefing. Afterwards, Bravo Team was moved down to Condition 3 and variously resumed their previous assignments in Europe or assisted with the analysis of the Moroccan data and investigation into “Sergei”. On October 19th, the investigation was able to locate the Learjet Sergei used to travel to the meeting in Egypt. It is parked in a private hangar at Zhuliany Airport in Kiev, Ukraine.

Objectives

  1. Gain access to the plane, copy the flight logs and everything stored in the flight data recorder, and plant a tracking device on the plane.
  2. Locate and surveil “Sergei”. Determine his identity, who he works for, and his role within that organization. Either he or his bosses were running the facility in Morocco, we need to know which.
  3. If possible, gather any other available data on the group and their operations.
  4. Do not allow the group to identify you. We believe they don’t know what happened at the Moroccan facility and were simply responding to the alarms and the risk of losing containment of the specimens. This gives us an advantage that would be lost if they discover we are investigating them.

Resources and Support

  1. 2 Technicians to assist with surveillance and translation. (Robert Dunlop and Joseph Pike)
  2. Dossier on the shell company that owns the jet Sergei used. (Caliber II)
  3. High powered camera, parabolic microphone.
  4. Bugs. (2 GPS tracking bugs, 2 audio bugs)
  5. 1 Standard agency pickup truck. Agents are advised to secure additional local transportation to avoid standing out.

The Airpsace around Kiev is strongly controlled, but not restricted. Air support will be available with sufficient advanced notice.

Desert Oasis II
In pursuit of answers

Mission Briefing

Codename: Desert Oasis, Stage 2
Mission Date: October 7, 2011
Location: Kibrit Air Base, Egypt
Classification: Secret; Caliber III

Situation

After the events of Desert Oasis, Morpheus Security contacts Bravo team, who were scattered around Europe on low priority missions. They were instructed to move to Condition 1 and report to HQ immediately.

Objectives

  1. Determine who ordered the airstrike on the facility in Morocco, and on whose orders.
  2. Speed is the primary concern. Use of aggressive interrogation and/or extraction is authorized, at agent’s discretion. Use of lethal force is authorized only for self defense.
  3. Remain covert. Kibrit Air Base is a secure military facility and it is very likely that you will be stealing Egyptian state secrets or committing other serious national crimes. If you are captured, the agency may not be able to negotiate your release if our involvement becomes known.

Resources and Support

  1. PASIV Device and 50 doses (hours) of Somnacin

The airspace around Kibrit is heavily controlled. As a result, air support will not be available.

Details

After the conclusion of Operation: Desert Oasis, but before the agents had destroyed the facility, a pair of Egyptian fighter/bombers conducted an airstrike against the facility and completely destroyed it. Based on the nature of the strike and their use of thermobaric weapons, we believe the goal of this strike was to both destroy and sanitize the facility. The intelligence gathered from the facility suggests that it was unrelated to Egypt and was instead being operated by a private agency. You are being sent to determine who was behind this airstrike, and as much about them as you can. We have determined that the planes were launched from Kibrit Air Base in Egypt. Further we have determined that the order did not originate from within Egyptian military command. Recommended course of action is to identify who on the base oversaw the airstrike, and who directed them to conduct the operation.
Travel is by commercial airlines (flying time is about 14 hours, with a stop in London) into Cairo. Transportation in Egypt is at the team’s discretion. Kibrit is about 2.5 hours from Cairo by car.

After Action Reports

Entry: Alexei Gaveril
Mission Review:
Our mission began after touching down in Cairo, and retrieving our gear and vehicle. We then traveled to Kibrit Air Force Base, and maintained positions until well after night fall when the base commander, Yosef, reportedly took to bed. We then infiltrated his residence and began our extraction procedure. It went without incident and much quicker than even our simulations had been. The information extracted confirmed that Yosef had ordered the air strike on behalf of an accomplice, and was sent directly to Julian Chambers. We were then instructed to intercept or reconnoiter the new target known only as Sergei. I was disguised as an Egyptian soldier, and made my way on base to await the exchange that was to happen between Yosef and Sergei. Interaction with the target was deemed to risky so I set up and recorded images and audio of the exchange; these too were sent immediately back to base. I then egressed from the Air Field, where I met back with the rest of Bravo team. As of this writing we are sitting tight, await further orders.

Miision Results:
Mission was successful within given parameters, and all objectives were achieved. It was determined that Group Captain Yosef had authorized the air strike on behalf of a Ukranian arms dealer known as, Sergei [photo attached]. No hostiles were injured, and our identities or affiliations were never exposed. Audio and visual intelligence was collected of both Sergei and his vehicle.

Mission Recommendations:
Air presence would have been invaluable to perhaps ground Sergei after leaving Kibrit.
If the facility was known, detailed reconnaissance should have been provided along with the information that we requested on its commander.

The First Mission

Mission Briefing

Codename: Desert Oasis
Mission Date: October 05, 2011
Location: Secret facility in Moroccan desert, and nearby town of Tissaf.
Classification: Secret; Caliber III

Objectives

  1. Determine who is operating the facility, and gather specific intel on their research including its goals and results.
  2. Obtain samples of any experimental results, research notes, and other documentation at the site.
  3. At the option of Control, destroy the facility and remaining samples and documents.
  4. Remain undetected. The operator of the facility is presently unknown; It may not be possible to extract any captured agents.

Resources and Support

  1. 2 standard agency F-150 pickup trucks
  2. 4 electric 4 wheel ATVs for off road reconnaissance
  3. 10lbs C4, and 10 timed/RF detonators
  4. 1 9mm Beretta 92FS and detachable suppressor for each agent

Additionally, Hawkeye will be on station to provide overwatch and communications relay with HQ during Phase II.

Details

We have received intelligence of a secret facility in Morocco that appears to be conducting advanced biological research. We currently do not have any intelligence regarding what they’re doing or who is behind it. We further believe that the other major elements of the Archer group know as much as we do, or even less. In order to press this advantage, we’re conducting a targeted investigation to gather as much intelligence about the place as we can. During Phase I, Alpha Team will insert into the nearby town of Tissaf and conduct surveillance of the facility and its staff and gather as much preliminary information as possible. Then, based on this information, Alpha Team will move to Phase II. In Phase II, Alpha Team will infiltrate the facility, establish communications with Control via Hawkeye, upload as much computer data is possible, and obtain physical samples from the laboratories. Control will examine the computer records and make the final determination to destroy the facility or not. Finally, Alpha Team will exit the facility and rendezvous with the Gulfstream for the return flight to HQ and debriefing.

After Action Reports

Entry: John “Ox” Wright
Mission Review:
Infiltration began at 0550 hours with Breaching Team consisting of myself and ‘Hal,’ moving to the lab building from the south. Upon determining that the second floor was a suitable entry point explosives were placed to prep for a breaching action. Breaching Team held position till 0700 hours when Diplomatic Team arrived, and waited for the signal to blow the wall. The order to breach was giving at 0720 hours after infiltration failed. ‘Hal’ moved into the server room and began breaking into the facility’s computer system. I cleared the first floor of the Lab wing and found no opposition. After ‘Hal’ had gained access to the facility network, I entered an airlock leading to a room of cages at the north end of the lab building. Inside the cage room was all manner of freaky ass shit biological experiments. It was determined that a particularly hostile experiment had left its cage, and was loose in the compound. I left the cage room and met up with the Diplomatic Team where we found the loose specimen inside an airlock on the second floor; ‘Hal’ disabled the airlock trapping the specimen. The specimen was human in form and invisible to the naked eye, but ‘Hal’ claims it absorbs infra-red light. It mimicked behavior it saw (e.g- tapping on windows and prying open doors), and was really pissed off hostile. The team collected samples of various specimens, and rigged the building for demolition. During egress hostiles forced Hawkeye to bug out, and minutes after we had evacuated the building said hostiles bombed the shit out of the place proceeded to demolish the facility; ‘Bruce’ says they were Egyptian. The team successfully escaped the scene with the specimens and a back up of the data proliferated, where upon rendezvousing at the safe house.

Results:
All mission parameters were accomplished;
*Acquired files from facility’s mainframe (waiting for analysis)
*Acquired multiple dead specimens from lab
*Facility was destroyed (not by us :[ )
*All agents successfully returned from mission.

Recommendations:
HazMat suits, Nukes, Barf bags, more warning before we’re nearly blown up.

Entry: Steven ‘Hal’ Emerich
For this most tactical insertions our team decided on a two-front, pincer like assault. Ox and my self arrived at some ungodly hour in the morning first to the facility stashing our truck in a dried out lake bed, per my recommendations, and proceeding on Powerwheels electric ATVs to the South-Eastern corner of the complex. After assessing the lack of adequate surveillance we proceeded on the the first floor roof of what we imagined was the server room, which confirmed with the use of mind bullets Clairsentience. I tapped into the satellite feed with my laptop and started to stream the outgoing/incoming data while Ox began to remove the stucco exterior to see what kind of structure we were dealing with. What he revealed was a brittle, RAM (Radar-absorbent material). Ox continued his probe and together we discerned that there was no reason a small application of C-4 would be inadequate for a distraction and breaching charge. I packed up my laptop, neglecting to disable their satellite feed :/
Ox and I waited, patiently, for the rest of the team to get the show on the road Big O!. Bruce, kanen and paul eventually arrived around sunrise. Their job was to talk their way in under the guise of CIA operatives there for an inspection of the facility. They should not have had any problems on account of the flawless perfect identification badges that I made for them. Despite the edge that my forgeries should have given :emote bravo: Bravo Team, they only managed to make it in to the first building. As a side note, this facility was using “Solar panel research facility” as their cover story, WEAK SAUCE. At the cusp of hostile tension, kanen gave the signal to blow the C-4. So we did. Ox took cover behind the A/C unit like a scrub while I maintained a close proximity taking cover behind my riot shield. The C-4 detonated leaving an optimal entry point providing access to the first and second floors. Ox moved in to secure the first floor, while I entered the server room to start accessing their system. I suggested Ox return to the roof to disable the satellite dishes. He did. I calculated roughly 40sec from the time of our breach till the dishes were disabled. I quickly and expertly gained control of their systems. I reprogrammed the locking system on our side of the facility, giving our team full access, and thusly locking out any other hostile forces :smug:.
Bravo team did some shooting and stuff and killed the guards.
Once I had control of the system I initiated an uplink with Hawkeye and they began downloading everything on the servers. Once that had been set up I accessed the surveillance systems and discovered the facilities true operation. The genetic modification of animals and most likely humans. Ox dawned a HAZMAT suit and entered the large 3 story room on the North side of the building. I maintained visual contact with Ox using video cameras set up in the cage room. Inside were several mutated specimens, mostly dead, some alive, but mostly dead. At the far end of the room Ox stumbled across a completely eviscerated body not long dead, and an empty cage. As Ox was leaving the room from the first floor airlock I caught the flash of another airlock cycling from across the room. I notified the team, who by this point had all rallied. Everyone set up at the top of the stairs while I left the server room and deployed at the base of the stairs. When the team set up at the 2nd floor airlock it was observed that the plexiglass windows were utterly and completely covered in blood. Also of note was the time on the airlock counting down OMG. I rushed back to the server room to disable the airlocks. I shut down the systems and set up a mobile link with my laptop so that I could rejoin the team. When I reconvened with the team I also engage the fire sprinklers in the airlock so we could see what was inside. What we saw was a freshly eviscerated body barf. But that was all. We noticed some splashing from behind a locker in the middle of the room. Ox began rapping on the door. We saw motion in the airlock but nothing else. Upon closer examination the water drops were bouncing off of a form in front of the door. It started tapping on the glass as well WTF!?!!. So obviously we had a creature roughly human in size and shape that could mask itself from the visual spectrum. We lacked any thermal goggles really? but with some clever thinking on my part we were able to discern that it did still absorb infrared.
Deciding that this creature was trapped and better left trapped, and with the information that Hawkeye had hostile planes inbound. We set about gathering specimens and rigging the building for demolition man. I expertly panned out the locations for the C-4 to go, and we rigged the timers to blow simultaneously at 5 minutes after we would have egressed from the building. Bravo team loaded up the specimens in their truck while Ox and I set the charges.
Ox, Bruce and myself had made it to our truck with plenty of time for the charges to go off, when Egyptian F-4 Phantoms ya rly came and leveled the place. WTF?!
Anyway, we rallied at our safe house and now I’m writing this stupid report and await debriefing.
